Hello everyone,

In 1988, Martha E. Rogers, John Phillips, Violet Malinski, Therese Meehan, and myself created the Society for Rogerian Scholars (SRS). It grew out of Martha’s Dreamers Think Tank. We met in her living room to explore the science of unitary human beings and decided to create this organization so everyone could participate. This year, SRS is celebrating its 25th anniversary! The annual conference will be held at Baruch College, City University of New York on October 9-11, 2013.

What is Power-Imagery Really All About?

Life is short and most of us want to make the most of it. That includes feeling on top of our game no matter where we are and what we are doing with other people. Using imagery exercises can get you there, but your Power-Imagery Partners have spent many years developing a specific way to use imagery to enhance our ability to create changes in our lives—in other words to become more powerful in taking charge of our lives. So it follows that we call this the Power-Imagery Program. It teaches you to become aware of the choices you make each and every day.

The Imagery Part of Power-Imagery

The power of mental imagery is unparalleled and unrivaled in our world.  Imagery is a mental process that shows us new ways to approach life and life’s problems, establish meaningful relationships, change destructive habits, open up avenues of creative power, access inner resources of power reserves as a life force for our and others’ good.  It is a unique process in that it is independent of any external influence or intervention and at the same instant is naturally integrated with our physical functioning as a biological-mental unity, a wholeness that i

Relationships and the Power-Imagery Process

One effect of the Power-Imagery Process (PIP) is how it affects relationships.  In the power-as-control game that forms the basis of most human relationships, the prevailing condition can be expressed by the formula: “Me real-You shadow.” This power dyad places the “shadow” into the position of anonymity making it rather easy to be dismissed or disregarded.

What is the Value of the Power-Imagery Process (PIP)?

There is no value in the Power-Imagery Process (PIP) really, if you do not want to create change and ease the burdens of life. On the other hand, doing the Power-Imagery Process, besides providing over 266 million individualized possibilities to give you a tailor-made program just for you, puts you in charge of changes you want in life—be they for personal growth, shifting habits for beneficial purpose, turning around stalemated relationships, facilitating a greater use of life, or whatever your intentions may be.

What is Power?

Power, in our view, is the capacity to participate KNOWINGLY in changes by being aware, making choices, feeling free to act on our intentions, and involving ourselves in creating change. The Power-Imagery Process teaches you to do just that. You can find it at http://www.powerimagery.com.

Nurses Vital Role in Hurricane Sandy’s Aftermath

Seven nurses (of the many) who evacuated patients from NYU Lancome Medical Center during Hurricane Sandy were interviewed on national TV.  These nurses were truly heroic in what they were able to do.  They carried patients sometimes down as many as 17 flights of stairs in dark stairwells with flashlights--patients on stretchers or in wheelchairs or babies in their arms.  Some had infusions of blood or oxygen or IV's or tubes of all kinds.  It was reported the next day that none of the several hundred patients evacuated from there died—a miracle.  The nurses were pri

What the PIP Teaches

What the Power-Imagery Process (PIP) Teaches When we first conceived the Power-Imagery Process in the mid-2000’s, we understood that the property of power, as is true for all qualities, characteristics, or traits, in human development, exist as givens for our personal development. As such we have the choice, through the direction of our free will to choose at first one of two directions for any of them. As for power, we can choose Power-as-Control, or Power-as-Freedom.
